Rafael Nadal’s amazing run this year paid off. Despite losing to Novak Djokovic in the semis of the Cincinnati Masters, he will take the front seat come August 18, when the new rankings will be out. Federer was on top of the world since February 2004, and Nadal trailing behind him for the last three years.

Is Roger fading? The once invincible god of tennis has lost some luster and was eventually skinned off at the French Open and the Wimbledon. In three grandslam event this year, he came home empty-handed. Djokovic, the world no.3, won the Australian Open early this year. Then Nadal took the next two events. The only one left for Roger to redeem himself is the US Open.

We, Roger fans, hoped to see our hero turn things around. Is he in love or fell out of love? We just don’t know. Rafa is in really top form this year. But I really wish for Roger to regain his lofty place.
