Fernando Verdasco stunned the ersthwhile favorite and fourth seed Andy Murray in a five-set thriller at the 4th Round of the 2009 Australian Open.
I am surprised at the result as I had not considered him a threat to any of the big four. My prediction for the Australian Open men’s final will no longer be possible. The Scot is out and some even labeled him as a grand slam pretender.

I am highly anticipating the fight results of Georges St-Pierre vs BJ Penn, two great MMA fighters. Georges St-Pierre will defend his UFC Welterweight Title against BJ Penn, the UFC Lightweight Champion, this coming January 31, at UFC 94. Venue is at MGM Grand Las Vegas.

It will be raining fists on the boxing ring in Las Vegas on May 2. Pacquiao and Hatton will finally slug it out after sorting out their disagreements. Fans, boxing experts and aficionados got a scare when the promoters of the Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton fight announced the other day that the fight was called off because of the revenue split disagreement. Hatton’s camp pulled the plug when they told their US promoters to look for another worthy opponent. The Filipino fighter’s camp demanded 60% while the best compromised offer is around 52%. The Pacman eventually relented and signed the contract anyway, at 52-48 split. Like a switch bulb, the fight was on-off-on.

Will the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight be aborted because of the revenue split disagreement between both camps? 50-50 is said to have been agreed by the promoters Top Rank and Golden Boy. But the Pacman’s camp says it’s not a fair share. After demolishing De La Hoya, sacrificing a lot of percentages (they get only 35%) just to get the fight, they think that it’s now the right time to get respect in terms of share in the revenues. 60-40 is their adamant demand.

Who are the best football (soccer) players in the world today? If you do not know, you are probably on the wrong side of the planet. The world knows football, except for a few.
