Tennis World No. 4, Andy Murray is already making waves at this early time of the year 2009. He ran away $250k richer after lording it over Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the Capitala World Tennis in Abu Dhabi. He could earn more if he defends his title at the Qatar Exxon Mobile Open this week. He already past the early rounds and a rematch against Roger or Rafa is inevitable.

The 21-yr old tennis star is my other favorite, aside from King Roger, of course. I first saw him play two years ago and I was really amazed at his shots. What I like most are his backhand shots. “This guy has a future in tennis” I said to my friends who were watching TV with me at that time.
I monitored his Grand Slam appearances but it was only in the 2008 US Open that he made his presence felt by beating world No. 1 Rafael Nadal. Andy Murray is also one of the two players who has a winning record against Roger Federer (the other one is Rafa).
I was sad that he beat Roger Federer last week, but glad that he beat Rafa. The Australian Open is fast approaching and this young Scot may once again shock the world. Novak Djokovic may have his hands full. Defending the title he won last year won’t be easy. Just recently, he crashed out from Brisbane International, a tune up to the Australian Open, which will happen three weeks from now.
Though I insist that 2009 is for Roger, I wouldn’t be surprised if Murray will take it away from him. Watch this guy in the tennis world!
