Chelsea vs Everton in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on May 30! Who will win? I got my Chelsea vs Manchester United prediction half correct. I felt sorry for the Red Devils. But what can we do when you sit out your best players?
I expected Ronaldo and Rooney to inflict the damage. But they were rested. The young guys were given the opportunity to start and shine on their own. They were given the load to carry Manchester United to a quintuple. I can still recall in 2005 when Chelsea, guided by Mourinho at that time, was bracketed with Barcelona in the elimination stage. Then the Blues’ Manager, oozing with confidence and fresh from winning the Trophy at FC Porto, declared before the 2nd round draw, “Give me Barcelona!” Oh well, his wish was granted. He didn’t fail in beating Barcelona that year. But in 2006, Barcelona exacted revenge and beat Chelsea. They went on to become champions under Frank Rijkaard
