Manchester United vs Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League Semifinals! All-English semifinal match again, something to watch out on April 29. The Gunners had won their only game so far against the Red Devils this season in the Premier League. But they are to meet 3 or 4 more depending on who will progress to the FA Cup finals. Manpower-wise, Manchester United has the obvious edge. Ronaldo, Rooney and Berbatov can be too much to the younger Arsenal squad. But it is not really conclusive


Ronaldo once again displayed his true worth when he scored a goal in Estadio Da Dragao against FC Porto. That, at least, erased the shadow of the 2004 humiliation. Arsenal won 4-1 on aggregate when they stomped Villareal 3-0 on their second leg quarterfinals game.

As to the match up between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, I do think that both Managers are world-class and equally brilliant. Arsenal already disproved the notion that they are weak in Europe when they reached the Champion’s Finals a couple of years ago. Though being the underdog in the 2009 semifinals, the Gunners can pull the rug against the Champion.

1st Leg Match Results Prediction

At Old Trafford, any visiting team would wish they weren’t there. FC Porto was lucky enough to snatch two goals a week ago. Liverpool was an exception when they thumped the Red Devils a month ago. Come April 29, I see a 2-0 victory by the Red Devils.

ACTUAL RESULT: 1-0 for the Red Devils on O’Shea goal.

2nd Leg Match Results Prediction

Arsenal will bounce back on May 5 but it won’t be enough to lift them to the finals. Score: 2-1.
