Ronaldo and Kaka in Real Madrid
Posted by cebloggerJul 7
Cristiano Ronaldo was introduced last night to the Real Madrid fans. Thousands of fans greeted him at the Bernabeu – an estimated 80,000 fans adoring the footballer from Portugal. Such an awesome feat for a young and talented player! Kaka’s introduction was done a week ago and around 50,000 fans witnessed his unveiling. These two were at least worth £136M, an astounding price considering the world over are experiencing financial crisis.
Ronaldo chose no.9 while Kaka got no. 8. They do not share the same position but can really complement each other, Kaka at the middle and Ronaldo at the left or right. Ronaldo is the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year while Kaka is the winner of the 2007 edition. Both have the passion for winning, and they are leaders in their own national teams and former clubs. Both are expected to carry those winning ways at Madrid.
According to Ronaldo, playing for Real Madrid is a “childhood dream”. Though it breaks my heart that he leaves Manchester United, I guess the transfer is actually the best for him. His attacking style fits well in Spain. As for Kaka, he declared he wanted to stay at AC Milan, but the Italian Club, with its money problems, was forced to sell their star player. And I think that the move is excellent for Kaka. Real Madrid has not had any European title for some time now. Their rival Barcelona, already had two Champion’s League trophies in the last 5 years. Kaka and Ronaldo can change all that with their six year contracts.
Real Madrid is the world’s wealthiest football club and they easily showed their financial prowess with their recent spending on Kaka and Ronaldo, the two most expensive yet the best football players in the world today.
Real Madrid still has a couple other expensive targets. But they will also sell other players. We may no longer see the Dutch duo of Robben and Nilsterooy at the Bernabeu. But fans will now be chanting the names of Kaka and Ronaldo, and more importantly, winning trophies everywhere.
