Nonito Donaire vs Rafael Concepcion will be featured at the “Pinoy Power II” on August 15 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The Filipino Flash will take a shot at the WBA interim junior bantamweight interim title against Panama’s El Torito.
Nonito Donaire (21-1-0) is coming out from a fourth round knock out over Raul “The Cobra” Martinez. Rafael Concepcion (13-3-1) on the other hand, came from a stoppage loss to Jorge Arce in September 15, 2008. Will these two fighters brawl to a great fight?
My Fight Results Prediction
Nonito Donaire is the second most popular Filipino boxer today, next only to Manny Pacquiao. He has good hand speed, footwork, and packs power on his hands. Remember he stopped the loud-mouthed Vic Darchinyan and the erstwhile unbeaten Martinez. He trains hard and his handlers know well his capabilities. There is none in his current weight class who can outclass him at this stage,
Concepcion beat AJ Banal of the Philippines last year. But he lost to Jorce Arce before his unscheduled fight with Donaire. If you look at his records, it is far from impressive. He is not even the fighter placed to fight Donaire in the first place.
Should we expect a walk in the park for The Filipino Flash? I think so. Donaire will finish Concepcion in 3 rounds — that is my fight results predictions.
Actual results:
It was not an easy fight as we thought of. But Donaire still emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

sana nga manalo si donaire. all the best
sana nga badong! at tsaka si bernabe din.
Nonito has power and speed to knockout his opponents. His fight against Concepcion is a big test for him whether he can still bring his power in heavier weight class… Godluck Nonito!!!
Congrats Donaire!
I still can’t help but laugh whenever I remember the Donaire-Darchinyan fight, how Darchinyan tried to get up after he was knocked out and how he tried to grab on the ropes, then later on saying he wasn’t hurt. Such an arrogant prick!
Although Donaire already has the talent and physical attributes to be a very good boxer, he still needs to have a trainer like Freddie Roach. He has a lot of potential and he just might be as great as Pacquiao.
Too bad I missed Donaire’s last fight against Concepcion. Still trying to find a video online. Hehe
