Barcelona vs Valencia: Primera Division Preview and Results Predictions
Posted by cebloggerOct 17
Barcelona FC vs Valencia CF, Lionel Messi vs David Villa. The date at Mestalla is October 17, 2009 and Barca is looking for another win to add to its spotless 6-0 record this season. But the fifth placer Valencia is known to stand firm on its ground like they are fighting for their lives. What is your match results prediction?
Barcelona
They will be without Thierry Henry because of an injury. Their best man Messi isn’t in the best of form as he is presumably tired after the World Cup qualifier in Montevideo the other day. I am actually curious of his contribution in the qualifiers. It is not really the obvious goal scoring we desire from him. Anyway, the Argentine team still won it and got the last berth for the automatic qualification.
As for Barca, though they are on top of the table, their last game against Almeria, where they barely won 1-0, wasn’t spectacular. Their true test is the game later on the grounds of Valencia. We just hope that Pedro, Messi and Ibrahimovic can at least give enough firepower.
Valencia
Valencia is not a minnow in the league. It is the third winningest club at the La Liga. And they have an excellent record too when playing at home. Is it the noise that will stagger their opponents? Nah, they have an excellent team and a player named David Villa, Spain’s second-leading goalscorer of all time.
Results Prediction
Some say that this game is evenly matched, and that Valencia can hold their ground against Barca just like what they did last season. But I don’t really see a draw. I don’t see raining goals either. My results prediction is for Pep Guardiola’s men to win 1-0. Boring it may seems, but remember, Valencia is fighting for its dear life.
Actual results: Barca was held to a goalless draw. It’s not even what the experts predicted. They are now just appoint ahead of Real Madrid who had a wonderful evening beating the opponent.
