Liverpool Lost To Reading at FA Cup

Liverpool lost to Reading at FA Cup 1-2. This is another disaster for the Reds who were also ousted at the Champions League. Imagine, they lost to a club who is not even at the Premier League this season! Add to the woes is that they were beaten and at their own turf in Anfield in front of their fans. They also lost Torres and Gerrard to injury.
This could spell the end for the much-criticized Rafa Benitez, manager of the Liverpool squad. The Reds were leading at halftime because of a gift goal from the opponent. But two goals for Reading at the near end of the game left everyone shocked.
What has happened to Liverpool? They have Gerrard and Torres, two of the best football players in the world today. They have a solid fan base, willing to kill and die for their team. We know that the Champion’s League exit was not just their first problem this season. Aside from the FA Cup exit, they are also limping at 7th place at the Premiere League.
Failure to land the fourth spot at Barclays, or even a slot for next year’s Champions League, is extremely disastrous. They’d lose millions of revenues, and fans affection. They might be forced to sell their best player in Torres. Sponsors might be thinking twice in their contract renewal. I can only imagine the worst.
Should we all put the blame to Rafa, as suggested by many? I think the team should have new man at the helm now. Jose Mourinho might be available and who knows if he’s interested.
