Jose Mourinho moves to Real Madrid as the Madrid President Fiorenteno Perez announced that they sacked their current coach to make way for the “Special One’s” move from San Siro to the Bernabeu. As we all knew, Mourinho is very vocal about his desire to leave Inter and coach Real Madrid.
“If you don’t coach Real Madrid then you always have a gap in your career,” Mourinho was quoted as saying. The Portuguese Manager won the the Champions league title while at FC Porto in 2004, and in Inter this 2010. He’s one of the three coaches who won European titles in two different teams. He also won league titles in Portugal, England, and in Italy. He wants to do the same in Spain.
Mourinho used to be an interpreter and assistant of Madrid’s fiercest rival, Barcelona. But when Mourinho began defeating the Catalans while at Chelsea, and now again while at Inter, there no better team to coach other than the biggest of the nemesis.
So next season, we’ll witness a new Galacticos – one with star players and a star manager -one with the highest paid players and the highest paid coach. It doesn’t necessarily mean an easy route for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid. But it will be a hell of a challenge for Barcelona and Lionel Messi.
