El Classico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona Live Stream Online

Real Madrid vs Barcelona. This is another of the El Classico, a match between two of Spain’s best clubs, and between two great players in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Barca travels to Santiago de Bernabeu and will try to notch their fourth consecutive wins against the Galacticos.

The results will be known in a few hours, while we will be watching the Real Madrid vs Barcelona live stream online in our PC. This is dubbed as the “Match of the Millinneum”. The two sides are tied at the top of the table. Cristiano Ronaldo, having scored 25 goals for Madrid this season, is all out to prove that he is the best football player in the world today. Though the honor belongs to Messi now, a Real victory would justify the expenditure put up by Fiorentino Perez to form the current Galcaticos. Kaka has not yet fully recovered from his hernia injury, but it does not mean that he cannot play.

Messi may have mesmerized the world in his one-man demolition of Arsenal in the Champion’s league, but this is El Classico, and they are facing a new Real Madrid. The Galacticos will win this derby 2-1. Hurray for Ronaldo!

Actual results

Barca cruised with a 2-0 win over Madrid. Now they are on top, snapped Madrid’s winning streak and dashed the Galactico’s hope. A La Liga trophy plus a that of the Champion’s League would be sweeter for Messi and Barcelona.

The Next Google Page Rank (PR) Update of 2010

Are you still waiting for the next Google Page Rank (PR) update for 2010? Why do you need it anyway? Many of those who lost it, wanted it back. Some just downplayed the penalty. Those who failed to get any number between 1-4, wants to know how to improve their page ranks. In November of 2008, I wrote a post about how to get ready for the next Google PR update. Just click on the link and read it there.

Google updated its toolbar sometime between December 31, 2009 to January 2, 2010. Twas a wonderful New Year’s gift. Some website owners don’t know how they got it, even clueless on how to use it to their advantage. Some went back to their ways of selling links.

I got my PR back on one of my previously penalized PR4 site. Half was returned. I was tempted to do a paid post once again, but nah. My newest site, which has less than a couple of dozen other visitors in less the three months of its exitence, got a PR1. Not bad huh! Now, what am I going to do with it?

To those of you who are still obsessed with that green color on your toolbar, the next page rank update may happen at the end of March 2010 or early April. This is just an assumption though, as every other experienced SEO enthusiasts do. Only Google knows when to update, but it is up to you to be ready. Better make sure your site is up on that day!

Changes For 2009

Change is inevitable for this blog. The first day of 2009 is the best day to implement the change I always wanted to do but never had the time in the past.

New Look

I learned of this free theme from Bloggista. This one is the Blue version of his theme. A new look for a new year. How’s that for a change?

New Direction

I am still a participant of the Busby SEO Test. But with 30 days to go and with my site in search engine limbo, my participation would be reduced to a cheerer, and a link-giver to the leading Filipino participants.

I am sports-lover, whether as a player or as a fan. I play basketball, softball, football, volleyball, chess, badminton, darts, tennis, ping-pong and whatever games played when I was in high school. I can even play “takyan” if you like. Yeah, sports is my other passion and writing about it won’t be a problem for me.

I won’t be posting about SEO anymore. My other blog will take care of that. So it will just be about sports in 2009 and onwards.

Wanted to Buy: Busby SEO Test Link

Would you be willing to sell a link for $5 or less? For a Busy SEO Test Link? I guess some will. I’m not the buyer here but I actually received an opportunity notice in my email for a Busby SEO Test link. Though I’m done with paid post since many months ago, I’m still registered at some of those websites.

Wow! Someone’s buying links just to win this contest? Isn’t that against the rules in the Busby SEO Test? Nope, the rules didn’t say anything about buying links. I didn’t really check further as to the identity of that buyer. But I’m amazed. The contest’s top prize is $5,000. Even if you invest $2,000 for 10,000 links, it is still not an assurance of winning. If the big G finds out, there would be a bigger problem.

So what if that link-buying is for negative SEO? I mean putting out a competing site in the SERP rankings. Flooding links to a site would alert the big G, and could lead to penalization of that site. But who knows the intention of the buyer.

I am not buying links, and I’m not selling either (unless it is above $50). And because it’s Christmas time, why don’t we just do a little link-giving here. This one’s free.

By the way, my friend Bloggista is also joining Busby SEO Test challenge. The Bizblogger is exhorting us to spend more this Christmas to help ease the global financial crisis. The FatherBlogger is posting some useful food preparation tips for healthier children. My friend Javi is also busy with his promotion of Palawan as one of the best Philippine destinations.

Back In The Blogosphere

This site was down for a week and I must say that I am upset. If that would be an understatement, so be it. But I don’t flare up and rant from left to right and top to bottom, because I didn’t lose monetary opportunities with my Busby SEO Test site. The $5k top prize is out of my reach even from the beginning. My adsense earnings for this site is also petty. If my Pacquiao posts were picked up by the search engines, the most it would get would still be small.

I am generally a calm person, and looks at the brighter side of things. I do believe that my webhost could have done better than a week down. My other blog, Blogcebuworld.com, was even down for three weeks sometime in March and April this year. That was worse! But it recovered just in time for PR3 when the update came.

So what shall I do now in order to get back to the SEO race, and in my chase for a better pagerank come update time? I guess I just have to follow my own advices.

Thanksgiving: What I’m Thankful For

Though we don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving here in the Philippines, like what they do in the US, it is still a good thing to be thankful to the Almighty for what he has done for us. As Apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV), “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”.

I actually failed to realize that Thanksgiving was already celebrated the other day, the fourth Thursday of November. That is probably the reason why a cousin mentioned that they don’t have work because it’s a holiday in the US. But anyway, here are some things I’m thankful for:

I am thankful that the Philippine economy did not fail despite the economic turmoil felt worldwide. Even if I am not pro-GMA, I am still thankful that God gave her and those around her wisdom to run this country.

I am thankful for the promotion, even though it was a bit delayed. God had his perfect timing for everything. I thank my superiors for this opportunity. And I don’t even have to shed tears for the Cebu I left behind because of this relocation that goes with the promotion.

I am thankful for my wife who supported me even though she hates the idea of moving to Manila. We had a great and some scary times exploring Manila.

I am thankful for the Citibank credit card that I could use in purchasing my plane tickets. Traveling to Cebu is now at my own expense.

I thank God for my landlady who allowed me to rent her large room and use her 2HP aircon unit.

I thank God even for those thieves who stole my spare tire. Had the spare tire lock dropped at EDSA, it would have been a disaster.

I thank God for my new staff. They are very cooperative and supportive.

I thank God for another year in my life. I celebrated my 33rd birthday the other week and in time with the promotion assignment.

I also thank God for my friend who, despite leaving his high paying job, also got a new one and an AVP title as a bonus.

I am thankful for the search engines, which brought visitors to this blog and to my other blog. May they also stumble into my Pacquiao vs De La Hoya Dream Match post.

I am thankful for you (yes, you) who are reading this post. Thank you for your time, and may you drop by again in the future.

Busby SEO Test Break

I need a break! This arduous task of topping the SERP for a keyphrase Busby SEO Test is already taking its toll on me. My more important blogs had been left out. I haven’t played badminton for quite a while. I haven’t really packed up for my trip later this afternoon. I have so many things left undone.

So I’ll take a break. A break from chasing links and keywords, and return to my sane self. I’ll go back to writing poetry and short stories. I’ll read novels and magazines. I don’t even know what had happened to America after Obama won. And what about Erap? Is he running for the 2010 elections? Or will the administration declare a martial law to keep PGMA in office after 2010.

Yes, I’ll take a break. I’ll explore Manila and Laguna this weekend. They say the Caliraya is awesome. I have to see it for myself. I know that without a guide, I’ll get lost in the maze of streets and highways. So I’ll buy a map.

But only in the Busby SEO Test that I’ll take a break. I have so much work to do. Tons of it!

Busby SEO Test News

Busby SEO Test News: Ceblogger is out of the top 100.

From a previous high of 44, his ranking dipped to an all-time low and is now among the unknowns, as he is also unknown.

In October 3, 2008, Ceblogger registered as a participant to the Busby SEO World Cup 2 upon the invitation of Lhurey of Phblogger.net. Despite his lack of SEO skills, he courageously restructured his blog in order to compete with the elite.

Now, a month and a half had passed, he is still nowhere near the top. And so he prays, pleads, and begs for mercy. And since today is Ceblogger’s birthday, he wishes that Google give him gifts. Not just one, but the two as follows:

1. Restore his other blogs’ PageRank.
2. Restore the top 50 standing in the Busby SEO Test contest.

But while Google still has to think about this, Ceblogger will just have to enjoy his pizza.

Ready for the PageRank Update of 2009

Are you ready for the PageRank (PR) update of 2009? Or you may ask, will there be any PageRank Update this last quarter of 2008? I saw in the feedjit of my other blog that a lot of people came there searching about page rank updates. Maybe the questions they have in mind revolve around one thing: How to Improve Page Rank.

PageRank

If we are following the trend of these PR updates, we should expect a toolbar update late next month or early next year. Google does it more or less once every three months. The previous update was at the end of September wherein this site got ranked. Yeah, a mere PR1!

If they’ll have another round of update in 2008, then the 2009 round will be towards the end of the first quarter. You may also try predicting you future pagerank. Go to pagerankprediction.com and check your URL. I cannot vouch for its accuracy though because it shows different results for www., http://www., and http://. Even my other blog shows a not so good and inconsistent prediction. And from that prediction (even how inaccurate it is), develop your strategy to improve your page rank.

Given more or less 45 days to improve your PR, what should you do? Two things actually: Gain Backlinks and Save PR juice.

Gain Backlinks

1. Create High Quality Content – When readers talk about the information you give, they usually link you back, and share that useful information to others.

2. Submit your site to web directories – There are free web directories out there. Though they may not be a good source of traffic, the high PR ones can at least give you the backlink you need.

3. Ask friends to link your site in theirs – Ah, this is easy! But they might feel bad if you won’t link theirs.

4. Put a link to your site as a signature in the forums you joined – This is applicable when they allow html in the signature portion. If not, put the link directly in your post, when necessary. But avoid spamming or you’ll get banned.

5. Reward readers to link to you – Did I write bribe? Make a contest and ask participants to link to you. A lot of people are doing this. Participants won’t really care about your ulterior motive as long as you have attractive prizes.

6. Comment on sites with Dofollow – The original intention of this is to reward commenters with a link juice. Take advantage of this, but leave well-thought-of comments. Don’t spam.

7. Persuade sites with high PR to link to you – The persuasion is up to you. Go back to no. 1.

8. Too much link in such a short period of time can backfire – Search engines reward hard work and punish the crafty evildoer. As much as possible, gain natural/organic backlinks.

Save PR Juice

1. Avoid too many outbound links – Google doesn’t want you to give out too many links, lest they suspect your site to be a link farm. If you doubt the site you linked to, add the rel=”nofollow” to your html tag.

2. Don’t link to banned sites – You should know what these banned sites are. Check also the footer of your free themes, as they may contain links to a banned site.

3. Avoid linking to unrelated sites – This could get you banned. Now, I have to think what is an unrelated site to a general blog like this one. If you’ve done paid posts in the past and got spanked, maybe it’s now time to restructure your blog in time for the next page rank update.

It is easy to achieve a PR3 in less than 90 days. I’ve done it twice, but not for this Busby SEO Test site. I got a few people linking to me since I joined the 2nd Busby World Cup, so there is a chance that I’ll get a better page rank come update time.

On the other hand, be careful that your site is up and running when the robot from Mountain View, California visits your site. You might not get an update despite the hard work you’ve put up.

Making Money By Spamming

I received a comment or two many weeks ago that says something like this: “Please don’t delete spam. The money gained will be used to feed the children in Africa.” Oh, really? Spamming for a good cause? Why don’t they just buy Spam and feed the hungry?

There could be money in spamming because there are people who do it. And the money flowing to the spammers could be larger than we’ve imagined. The other day, this site received almost 30 spam comments, when I normally get around a dozen. Where did they come from? What is their purpose of doing so? If they’re from somewhere, how much are they paid for spamming? Can we join? (oops, just kidding on the last one)

Or are they into SEO too? Using the spam links to push their websites up in SERP. This only signal one thing for me: Stop Spam ASAP by installing a plug-in. Now, where’s the plug-in I downloaded?
