Manchester United vs Liverpool this March 21, 2010 is a must-see battle between two Premier League football titans. Battleground is at Old Trafford. Liverpool currently sits on fifth place, a few points behind Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United is currently on second place, just a point behind Arsenal.

But what is so special between these two? Aside from the fact that they are the winningest two teams in England, they are also bitter rivals. A win over the other is like winning the title itself.

Last season’s battle at this time of the year was a massacre. Liverpool scored 5 against the Red Devils 1. Earlier this season at Anfield, Liverpool once again showed its class by blanking their opponent 2-0. Though it is already a far swing for the title for the Reds, a win for them will at least give them another slot for Europe next season. The fourth place position is within reach.

Players to Watch

There will be no Cristiano Ronaldo this time, but there is Wayne Rooney, the league’s leading scorer this season. He is unstoppable at the front and he is determined to end their losing streak against the Reds. Rooney will be ably supported by Berbatov and Valencia.

On the visitor’s side, we have the usually deadly combo of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard. They’ve never failed to put on the show whenever they face United.

My prediction is a 2-1 victory for the Red Devils. But as in the past year, I may not be able to guess it correctly. So, just watch Manchester United vs Liverpool 330 UK time.

Actual results

Fernando Torres scored the first goal of the game in 5 minutes of regulation. Rooney leveled at the 12th minute. But it was Park’s heroic diving header from a Darren Fletcher’s cross that sealed the game. Final score- 2-1 for Manchester United. Now, they are back on top of the table.

Champions League’s 2010 quarterfinals and semi-finals draw is now ready after FC Barcelona and Bordeaux cruised through and completed the last eight. They will join Arsenal, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Manchester United, and CSKA Moscow. We will miss Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool, three superpower teams that are usual fixtures of the tournament. There will be no Ronaldo, Gerrard or Terry.

The draw will be held on Friday, 12:00 CET at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. There will be no seedings, and clubs of the same country can be drawn against each other.

As in the last 16, the quarters and semis are played on a home-and-away basis, with the first leg schedule on March 30 and 31, 2010 and the second leg on April 6 and 7, 2010. The remaining four teams will battle it out on April 20 and 21, and the second leg on April 27 and 28. The Finals will be a one-game-take-all on May 22 at Madrid’s Bernabue Stadium.

The results of the draw will be posted here as soon as it is available. Personally, I don’t want Inter, Barcelona and Manchester United meet at the quarterfinals level. Any one of them is too precious to miss in the semis or in the Finals.

Inter Milan vs Chelsea at the last 16 of the 2010 Champions League this March 16, 2010. This is a match between my favorite manager and my favorite team. Inter has the upperhand when they beat Chelsea 2-1 at their turf in Italy last February 24. That was the first time the two met at a European competition.

Inter’s Manager Jose Mourinho has been my favorite since that day I learned that his Porto team won the UEFA Champion’s League. I followed his move to Chelsea and then I had a self-declaration that Chelsea will be the team I’ll follow in the English Premier League. I read articles about him, and had quite a liking to his press antics. The British media loves him and are quick to pick up his conflicts with the other managers of the leading teams.

I love the way Mourinho instilled a winning mentality to the Chelsea team, who despite being in the league for so long, managed only a second place before his arrival. Lampard, Terry, Makelele and Drogba blossomed under his guidance. Chelsea conquered trophies after trophies. Except for the Champion’s League trophy! That was the main goal he didn’t achieve with the Blues. Up to now, that is the trophy that is lacking in Chelsea storage room.

Again, Mourinho is back in the limelight. He is now managing Inter Milan, the best team in Italy for the last four years. He took the managerial rein from Roberto Mancini. And once again, the Portuguese is tasked to bring the Champions League trophy.

Chelsea, despite being the better team on paper, had not yet won the Champion’s league. Their closest to the title was during the time of Avram Grant, when they lost to Manchester United at the finals. It was one unforgettable moment for the Blues Captain John Terry, when he missed the deciding penalty. The outcome could have been different if Mourinho did not quit in the middle of the season.

Now, under Carlos Ancelloti, Chelsea is at the top of English Premier League. Their lead is fragile though, because Manchester United and Arsenal are just a single point behind. John Terry had his moments of scandals, when he was reported to be having an affair with Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend. Terry is married, and is supposed to be a role model.

Another of Chelsea’s star, Ashley Cole, was also in hot water when a girl reported of her sexcapades with the football star. Ah, distractions!

Inter Milan vs Chelsea Results Predictions

I’ll go for the coach this time around. Lampard and Drogba (both favorites of mine) may score for the Blues, but Milito and Eto’s will provide the needed goals for Inter to win. My prediction will be a 2-2 standoff at Stamford Bridge. Inter will progress on aggregate of 4-3.

Actual results

Samuel Eto’o fired Inter through while Drogba was sent off. 1-0 for Inter at Stamford Bridge. 3-1 on aggregate. Inter enters the last 8.

Are you still waiting for the next Google Page Rank (PR) update for 2010? Why do you need it anyway? Many of those who lost it, wanted it back. Some just downplayed the penalty. Those who failed to get any number between 1-4, wants to know how to improve their page ranks. In November of 2008, I wrote a post about how to get ready for the next Google PR update. Just click on the link and read it there.

Google updated its toolbar sometime between December 31, 2009 to January 2, 2010. Twas a wonderful New Year’s gift. Some website owners don’t know how they got it, even clueless on how to use it to their advantage. Some went back to their ways of selling links.

I got my PR back on one of my previously penalized PR4 site. Half was returned. I was tempted to do a paid post once again, but nah. My newest site, which has less than a couple of dozen other visitors in less the three months of its exitence, got a PR1. Not bad huh! Now, what am I going to do with it?

To those of you who are still obsessed with that green color on your toolbar, the next page rank update may happen at the end of March 2010 or early April. This is just an assumption though, as every other experienced SEO enthusiasts do. Only Google knows when to update, but it is up to you to be ready. Better make sure your site is up on that day!

If Joshua Clottey wins, what will happen to Manny Pacquiao and boxing? We saw De la Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto crumbling down before Manny. We expected them to come and fight, even to pounce on the smaller Filipino fighter. But where were they? The awesome speed, the quicker than lightning punches, the solid fist, and the strong chin, were all for the boxing world to know, that Manny is the pound-for-pound king.

A lot of Filipinos will cringe at the thought of Manny losing to Clottey. If that happens, (God knows how many people are praying that it won’t happen), what will Pacquiao do next?

Before we’ll try to analyze what will happen to Pacquiao if he loses, let us consider the Ghanaian first. If he wins, he’ll be rich. He should be thankful to Mannny for the opportunity, just like the chance Ledwaba and Barrera’s teams did to Manny a few years ago. He can buy a Porsche if he wants. Manny has his. He can go to Ghana in a chartered plane. God knows what money can buy for Clottey!

If Clottey wins, he will become famous. This is not to undermine Clottey’s current status as a boxer. But a win will definitely send fear to any other boxer in the world. “The Pacman Slayer”, he will now be called. If Mayweather wins in that other side of the boxing world against Mosley, then Clottey will have another chance for a mega-fight. His win will be his ticket for a much better purse.

The WBO Welterweight champion’s belt is at stake too. But whatever glitter and value a belt ha in the past, it won’t really matter anymore today – that unless you have 7 or 8 belts of different weights, or a unified belt of WBO, IBF, WBC, WBA or whatever three-letter organization out there.

If Clottey wins, boxing will be back to normal. There will be no more wunderkind, or weight aberration. No more of the small guy beating the big guy. Mayweather will no longer turn yellow everytime he hears the name Pacquiao uttered. He will no longer ask to revise the drug testing method.

If Clottey wins, the Pacman fans will be quieted. At least for a few heartbeats, before they’ll come back roaring for a rematch: Pacquiao vs Clottey – Part 2.

Manchester United vs AC Milan - part 2 at the Old Trafford on March 10, 2010. In their previous encounter last month, Rooney showed his football prowess as he led the Red Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Rossoneri at the San Siro. It was not really an expected trashing of Milan, as history was always against the United side.

Now the game is turned, and Ronaldinho, Beckham and the Milan team, travel to Manchester and attempt to overcome the deficit. They need to score at least two goals apart — 2-0, 3-1 or whatever. Ronaldinho opened the scoring the last time, but it was all he could get. Now he needs to prove that he’s one of the best soccer players in the world today, and that he is still a force to reckon with.

Beckham, on the other hand, may have his poignant homecoming. This is the first time he’s back on Old Trafford since he was sold to Real Madrid in 2003. The fans had not forgotten him. But will he break their hearts by beating his boyhood team?

What happened to Rooney? He got himself injured in a World Cup friendly. That infuriated Sir Alex Ferguson since he knows full well that the club needs him most at this moment in time. Who will he turn to? Berbatov can play at the attack, but as we all know, he’s not enough. The manager has other injury problems too. Owen is out, Anderson injured his knee and Ryan Giggs is out with a broken arm. But as of the latest reports, Rooney was declared fit to play.

This is AC Milan’s chance. They’re a full force going into enemy’s territory. Alexandre Pato, the young Brazilian international, is back from injury. With 12 goals in Serie A plus 2 in the Champions League, he’s a danger to the opponent.

Results Prediction

AC Milan will shoot from all angles and they will attempt to break the middle. It’s now or never for the Rossoneri if they want to win the title. Manchester United may not have a potent scoring threat, but they can park the bus in front the goal. 1-1 draw will be my prediction. The Red Devils will progress to the quarterfinals.

I am sure there will be available online video streaming of the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight. One has to go to an online search engine and type “Pacquiao vs Clottey live streaming”. Then you will be shown plenty of sites that when you click them, leads to another, then to another useless site. Of course there are legit sites out there. One just has to be wise in finding them.

But as for me, I will be somewhere, perhaps in a cinema, or in some free viewing venues sponsored by some politicos running for City Mayor. It’s election campaigning time here in the Philippines folks, and I’m sure there will be plenty of free viewing venues. I will cheer with the rest of the crowd that if you are a lost Clottey fan, you should shut up, or you’d get a black eye.

I could also be in a place where there is available food and free-flowing drinks, like that 5-star hotel where we watched Manny batter De la Hoya. Ah, I have to shell out some bucks here!

As I stated in my Pacquiao vs Clottey results predictions post, Manny will KO Clottey in 6. I prefer that it will last the middle rounds. I hate that Hatton fight. It was so quick that we fight fans don’t even have the time to blink and think. I also don’t want to make it last till the last round. Or when judges will still have the time to think and rethink, and consider the bidders. I certainly want a KO. And I want to see it when it happens.

If you my friend, will like to view the Pacquiao vs Clottey fight via online video streaming, make sure you have a fast and reliable internet connection. I’ll probably put a link here if I find one.

UFC 110 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Cain Velasquez goes to the land down under. This is the first time a UFC bout is held in Australia. The main card takes place at 2pm, February 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney. For US viewers, the match can be seen live on payperview on February 20, 2010 10pm ET.

MAIN CARD

* Heavyweight – Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez
* Middleweight – Michael Bisping vs. Wanderlei Silva
* Lightweight – George Sotiropoulos vs. Joe Stevenson
* Light Heavyweight – Ryan Bader vs. Keith Jardine
* Heavyweight – Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Anthony Perosh

PRELIMINARY CARD

* Light Heavyweight – Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
* Welterweight – Brian Foster vs. Chris Lytle
* Middleweight – C.B. Dollaway vs. Goran Reljic
* Light Heavyweight – Igor Pokrajac vs. James Te Huna

Nogueira vs Velasquez

Antonio Nogueira – Rio de Janeiro, 6-3, 240 pounds, 32-5-1
Cain Velasquez — Salinas, Calif., 6-1, 240 pounds, 7-0-0

The young Velasquez is undefeated with 7 UFC fights. He knocked out Ben Rothwell in round 2 at UFC 104. Velasquez (of Mexican descent) is a two-time All-American collegiate wrestler from Arizona State and a Junior College National Champ at Iowa Central Community College. His strengths are usually in the takedown. But he also throws a lot of punches as he won six of his fights in TKO due to punches. He is current a purple-belter of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The 33 year old Nogueira is a veteran MMA fighter having fought the best of the MMA fighters out there both in Pride and in the UFC. He rose to prominence in the Japanese Pride Fighting Championship promotion, where he was the first Pride Heavyweight Champion from November 2001 to March 2003. He is the first and only heavyweight to have held Championship titles in both Pride and the UFC. His recent victory was a unanimous decision against Randy Couture at UFC 102. Nogueira is an excellent Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and his wins are mostly on submission.

Results Prediction

Although a lot of people predicted a victory for Nogueira, I go for Velasquez. He’s young and strong with his ground and pound technique. TKO in the 3rd round.

Actual results: 2 minutes and 20 seconds in the first round. That’s how quick Velasquez finished off Nogueira with his punches. Now he can face Brock Lesnar for the Championship.

Tiger Woods is scheduled to issue a press statement on Friday, February 19, 2010. Is he going to say sorry, or is he going to just talk about golf? This is the first time in months that he will be publicly saying something.

A radio station is reported to have obtained a leaked copy of Tiger Wood’s statement. It says:

“Directly to the point there is no one to blame but me for the mess I have put my wife and family through. I accept total and complete responsibility. My wife and I have been trying to work things out but sadly things have not worked out. Again all the blame is upon me. We have decided to live apart with me having mutually agreed upon times when I can be with our children. I know that the world wants all the details of what transpired in our marriage but that is between my wife and I and will remain that way. I have to get on my life and that means playing golf again. I have contacted The Masters and have informed them that my plan is to resume The Masters and they have said that they would welcome me with open arms. For that I am most grateful for I deserve nothing. Finally I want to thank all my fans around the world for standing by me when I let you down horribly. I failed all of you about as badly as a person can. I apologize to everyone of you. I promise all of you that you will see a new Tiger Woods, a better Tiger Woods and I will not let you down. Now I’d like , by the grace of God and with His help, to get
back to what I do best and that is playing golf. See you all at The Masters. God
Bless you all. Tiger Woods”

Should we believe this Tiger Woods leaked statement to be true? When Tiger had an accident in November, he said the crash was a private matter, and he intended to keep it that way.

“Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible,” he said. “The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”

I certainly agree about the responsibility or irresponsibility Tiger was talking about. But it’s sad to hear a couple break up because of extra marital affairs. And it’s hard to fathom that it’s a favorite sports icon on the guilty side of the affair.

Shaun White’s awesome performance must be caught in a video somewhere. Yep, I am particularly looking for the video of Shaun’s double mctwist 1260, that one that got him 48.4 points – a record he set for men’s Olympic halfpipe.

This is history for the 23-year old American, who added another gold medal to his very rich collection of gold medals from Winter X Games.

The first time I saw him on TV many years ago, his name struck me because of what he does on the snowboard. He flies, turns a lot of times, and he absolutely wows the ground. So that performance really stuck in my mind. He’s the only winter games athlete that I know of.

Are you looking for his video too? Here are some what I got from youtube, and see for yourselves what he can do.

Amazing, amazing videos of Shaun White! Now, where’s the double mctwist 1260 video?
