We’ve read lots of write-ups calling for the old warrior to retire. That was not the battle-scarred prizefighter Sugar Shane Mosley we know of fighting Manny Pacquiao the other weekend. It was more like a chicken dancing inside the boxing ring, unwilling to engage, unwilling to give a fight. Fans’ resounding boos could not even move him. What has happened to this once great fighter who fought heroic battles against the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Winky Wright, Vernon Forrest, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, and lately, Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Will there be any Good Friday sports or football match you can watch somewhere? Not in my place of the world. Most, if not all, are on Lenten breaks. No badminton, no basketball, and certainly no football. There will be no sports on TV that day. (I’m not sure with cable though)
But hey, in Australia, there were plans to put football in the calendar for a Good Friday match. These made lots of Christian churches fuming mad. According to reports, Catholic spokesman Bishop Christopher Prowse said: “Good Friday is a day like no other for the vast majority of Victorians who are Christians and even for those who are not. It’s a time to reflect on deeper issues and on our ultimate destiny. Sport should serve humanity and society, not the other way around. This is making sport itself into a religion.”

West Ham striker Carlton Cole has admitted to a charge by the Football Association of improper conduct in relation to a comment he made on Twitter during the England-Ghana friendly at Wembley.
“Immigration has surrounded the Wembley premises! I knew it was a trap! Hahahaha. The only way to get out safely is to wear an England jersey and paint your face w/ the St. George’s flag!” his tweet says.
Realising that his initial comments were considered offensive by many, Cole tweeted, “To my ghanian brothers dont take it so seriously, its just jokes! Youve played well! Done africa proud!”
